First Week Of Kindergarten 2019

There is no tired like teacher tired! From Meet and Greet to our first two days of school, I am looking forward to relaxing this weekend. I know I say this every year but it always amazes me how the first week is so exhausting.

That being said, I had a great week with my new kindergartners! They were excited, nervous and full of joy.

If you have been following along with my blog for a while now, you might remember that my school has a tradition of having a ‘gingerbread boy” get lost in our school the first day. We then use “searching” for our lost gingerbread boy as a reason to do a school tour, learn some snack, circle time and line rules as well as fun literacy and math activities. We come back to the gingerbread boy theme around Christmas time as well and it is a really cute tie in.

Well I finally got around to putting the things I use into a resource for all of you amazing teachers! As always, it is free and all you have to do to download is click on the picture or head to the “Literacy and Theme” resource page.

Let me know if you start this fun tradition at your school too! Now I am off to put my feet up and watch a little netflix!

Happy Teaching!
