I love February in the classroom. My kindergarteners are showing growth in so many ways, we have a good rhythm going and of course we get to celebrate Valentine’s Day! From the handmade valentine bags to the sorting candy hearts, I love it all! Luckily with our flexibility this year, Valentine’s Day falls right between our different themes so we get to take a full week to celebrate love!
I like to focus on showing love to others, the way we are shown love and the love that God has for us, just as much as the fun paper cards and candy hearts.
I have a handful of Valentine resources for you that I hope you can use in your classrooms this February. Remember all resources are free, just click on the Literacy/Theme or the Christian Resources links on the homepage. Or you can just click the picture too.
This first resource has a cute Valentine theme and reviews many literacy and math concepts. It’s great for small group and independent work too.
I use this next resource as fun independent centers during math time. You can even add some of the puzzle pieces into your sand and water table to have the kids search for the matching pairs!
We love making this “Jesus Loves Me Book”! The kiddos also love being able to bring it home and sharing it with their families.
This last resource is really cute too! These cards and bible verse printables can be used as a gift to your students, to exchange with other classmates, or to take home to their families. Color and b/w versions are available.
