We are in the final stretch now! Christmas Break is just around the corner. The kiddos are so excited to celebrate so these last few days of school before break can be hard for them to listen, sit still or really do anything but talk about Christmas!
I love this time of year and I am always trying to put a little more of Jesus into Christmas for my students. Our “Jesus Is the Light of the World” craft is simple, fun and puts the focus back where it belongs. How cool would it be the next time my students see Christmas lights, they think about Jesus being our Light?!? I love it!
Step 1: Have your students draw a swirly line across the paper.
Step 3: Dip one finger into colored paint (I love to pull out our glitter paint for this activity!) and make a finger print in different places right next to the line. These finger prints will be the Christmas lights.
Step 4: Repeat making lights using different colors of paint.
I love to do this activity and then talk to my students about what it means for Jesus to be our Light. We discuss how when Jesus lives in our hearts, He shines through us too! Lastly, I have my kiddos write about how they can show Jesus’s light and love to others this Christmas.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and see the beautiful light and love of Jesus shining all around you!
