Thankful FREEBIE #1

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I am so excited to start incorporating Thanksgiving activities in my classroom!  I am thankful for my readers and wanted to give you a month full of FUN and SIMPLE ways to integrate the holiday season into your classroom along with some FREEBIES!!!  For each Monday in November, I will be posting a classroom idea and a freebie to go along with it (and the last Monday in November will be a Christmas surprise!)  Without further delay…

Thankful Show and Tell!  I love talking with my kiddos about all the things we have to be thankful for.  It reminds me so much of when my grandparents would tell me to “count my blessings” at night if I couldn’t go to sleep.  Thankfulness is a great attitude for all of us to have.  You can encourage this in your kiddos with a “Thankful Show and Tell”. Ask them to bring in something that they are thankful for.  It can be a picture, an item, a story, whatever works for them.  Then give each child time to explain why they are thankful for that specific thing.  Good luck on having dry eyes by the end of the activity!

Here is a FREEBIE letter you can send home to your parents explaining the Show and Tell…

And here is a FREEBIE response activity for your students to do after Show and Tell…

Happy Thanksgiving!
